My Thoughts on Internet Marketing
One cannot imagine the world without the internet, as it is something we depend a lot on. The Internet is used to hunt for jobs, for entertainment, research, to pay bills, to plan for a holiday and a lot of other stuff. If we are in doubt we Google to find answers. Most people with computers spend at least a couple hours on it every day.
The Internet provides a great opportunity for new businesses, because of the amount of time people spend on it. A lot of dot com companies have sprung up in the last couple of decades and some have made a killing in this field. The important point here is that the Internet is a vast ocean and there is opportunity for anyone – even newbies to enter into this line. One need not be highly qualified or have a high IQ to earn revenue using the Internet. An individual who wishes to make it big on the Internet just has to be patient, quick and persistent. There are a large number of online businesses one could start.
For a business management student like me, internet marketing interests me a lot. Of course, there are times when I feel that overwhelmed and weak facing the amount of information available on this topic. However I do not lose hope and try to take it step by step. There are many success stories of people who have been successful on the internet. I have read their stories and feel that everybody who is willing can have some kind of success in this field.
Internet Marketing provides individuals with an opportunity to be creative and come up with new business ideas that they feel would be a success. Most other career paths would not provide us that chance for a young professional just out of college.
Today more and more companies are cottoning on to the ability of the internet to promote a brand, ranging all the way from Fortune 500 companies to even new start ups. This is because the internet has an immense cost advantage over your traditional brick and mortar setup, a wide global reach and impact. The focus in advertising is slowly shifting from the traditional mediums like radio, television and newspapers to the internet.
